Lights of Masquerade

Description

I had a huge school project for my design class.
We had to design and build a lamp. I was inspired by "Phantom of the Opera" and "Assassin's Creed II" which takes place in Venice.
Unfortunately my finger was broken so I was unable to do something for two weeks. So I was in a huuuuge rush in the end.
But I like how my lamp looks like now.
It is made out of foam rubber and painted with gold, red, white and black acrylic (I'm still a noob at painting with a brush!). I used golden glitter too.
I used two braids for the border of the mask and attached three peacock's feathers and a rose.

All in all:
Time: 7 1/2 hours (just the mask. With all the other tasks for this project about 10+ hours)
- 20 lights (2 fairy lights? I don't know the english word tho)
- Red, gold, white and black acrylic
- golden glitter glue
- 1 rose
- 3 peacock's feathers
- 2 braids
- a lot of patience ...
- ... and superglue.

Update: I got an A for this :)

This is a really good piece and the addition of the lights gives a new twist on the old idea of the masquerade mask.
The paintwork is superb, especially the leaf work under the eyes. You say you're a noob at painting with a brush but it doesn't look like it on this.
This would go really well with two of my wife's costume dresses :)
Congrats on the A grade - you earned it!
